David and Goliath (from the view of king Saul)

Goliath, an extremely tall and buff Philistine soldier threatened my people and I.  He said that one Israelite man would have to fight against him.  If the man was to defeat him, the Philistines would become our servants.  If he did not defeat him, we would become their servants.  Fearful and overwhelmed, I searched the crowds to see if anyone had volunteered.  Not one man came forward.  Not even one of my many soldiers.  Then, from the corner of my eye, I noticed a boy walking toward me.  When he reached where I was standing, he spoke.  "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine, your servant will go and fight him.  He was a shepherd named David.  He was young and handsome, but it did not seem as though he was meant for fighting.  I told him that he was far too small to fight Goliath.  I also told him about how Goliath had been training to be a soldier since he was a child.  David argued.  He informed me that, as a shepherd, he had killed both a lion and a bear to protect his flock of sheep.  He said that his God had prepared him for this battle.  I was still doubtful, but I knew he was my only hope.  I dressed him in strong armor.  Although the armor would have protected him well against the giant Philistine, it was too big for him and he was not used to it.  He quickly removed the armor and ran in the direction of the stream.
David approached Goliath.  I was amazed at how the boy confidently stood before the Philistine armed with only a small sling and no armor.  I watched as David accepted insults from Goliath.  David calmly responded saying that his mighty God would protect him and how he would helm him defeat Goliath.  Goliath only laughed.  The Philistine moved closer to David.  David ran toward the battle line to where Goliath was.  In one movement David removed a stone from his pocket, pulled it back on his sling, and released it.  The rock struck Goliath directly in the middle of his forehead.  Instantly, the giant fell to the ground.  He was dead.  Confused yet amazed I watched as David used Goliath's sword to remove his head from his lifeless body.  The philistine army ran in fear.
