A Busy Baking Evening

The kitchen clock read 9:34 on the night before Jack's third birthday party.  Much baking was to be completed.  Jack's mother was exhausted, for the whole day had been spent baking.
White flour coated the countertops, along with the family dog.  Bowls of icing and cake batter were scattered around.  Whenever his mother had not been looking, Jack would quickly sneak a spoonful of sweet buttercream icing into his small mouth.
The tempting smell of German chocolate cake strayed from the oven.  The bright red strawberry cupcakes that were cooling beside the oven had an even more irresistible scent.
A timer went off.  It sounded like a telephone ringing.  Jack's mother hurried over to the oven to remove the German chocolate cake from the oven rack.  With a thump, she set the pan of brown deliciousness next to the cupcakes to cool.
After the cake cooled, it was cut to appear as the number three.  The numerous scraps of cake were given to the exceedingly delighted Jack.  The almost-three-year-old's taste buds danced around inside his mouth.
Jack's color of choice, red, was chosen to be used as the icing color for the cake.  However, when the red food coloring was mixed with the white icing the icing turned a vibrant pink!  To avoid the pink color, tiny, red sugar crystals were sprinkled all over the cake.
The strawberry cupcakes were the last thing that needed to be completed.  Smooth, strawberry flavored icing was carefully iced onto the top of each small cupcake.  Round, red candies were placed on top for looks.
Jack's mother cleaned the messy kitchen and put the finishing touches on all of the desserts.  The kitchen clock read 11:03 and a drained mother went to bed.

Parker

Jack, a two-year-old boy was playing at the park one day. Under the slide there was a little kitten roaming around. Jack's mother decided to bring the kitten home. After they got home, Jack rushed over to the kitten. Squealing and running, Jack chased the cat around the front yard, stepping on his tail a few times during the process.
Frightened by the two-year-old, the feline hissed. The tan and black for stood up on its back. The kitty tried to hide in the bushes, but Jack kept finding it. The cat's muscles seemed to be as stiff as cardboard.
Eventually, Jack left the cat alone. Jack's mother and sisters decided to name the cat Parker. Parker began to explore his new home undisturbed. Calm and relaxed, Parker fell asleep on a large rock in the yard.

David and Goliath (from the view of king Saul)

Goliath, an extremely tall and buff Philistine soldier threatened my people and I.  He said that one Israelite man would have to fight against him.  If the man was to defeat him, the Philistines would become our servants.  If he did not defeat him, we would become their servants.  Fearful and overwhelmed, I searched the crowds to see if anyone had volunteered.  Not one man came forward.  Not even one of my many soldiers.  Then, from the corner of my eye, I noticed a boy walking toward me.  When he reached where I was standing, he spoke.  "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine, your servant will go and fight him.  He was a shepherd named David.  He was young and handsome, but it did not seem as though he was meant for fighting.  I told him that he was far too small to fight Goliath.  I also told him about how Goliath had been training to be a soldier since he was a child.  David argued.  He informed me that, as a shepherd, he had killed both a lion and a bear to protect his flock of sheep.  He said that his God had prepared him for this battle.  I was still doubtful, but I knew he was my only hope.  I dressed him in strong armor.  Although the armor would have protected him well against the giant Philistine, it was too big for him and he was not used to it.  He quickly removed the armor and ran in the direction of the stream.
David approached Goliath.  I was amazed at how the boy confidently stood before the Philistine armed with only a small sling and no armor.  I watched as David accepted insults from Goliath.  David calmly responded saying that his mighty God would protect him and how he would helm him defeat Goliath.  Goliath only laughed.  The Philistine moved closer to David.  David ran toward the battle line to where Goliath was.  In one movement David removed a stone from his pocket, pulled it back on his sling, and released it.  The rock struck Goliath directly in the middle of his forehead.  Instantly, the giant fell to the ground.  He was dead.  Confused yet amazed I watched as David used Goliath's sword to remove his head from his lifeless body.  The philistine army ran in fear.

My Adventure As a Colored Pencil

Last night I dreamed I was a green colored pencil.  It was one of the weirdest dreams that I have ever had.
My journey began in a box.  In the box with me were many other pencils.  A girl took me out of the box, grabbed a piece of paper, and squeezed my neck so that I was choking.  She used my green tongue to draw a picture, a flower, on the paper.  As disgusting as it tasted, she forced me to lick the sheet of paper.  My tongue left a trail of forest green saliva behind it.  She put me down to grab a snack and I rolled around with joy and relief.  The paper had tasted TERRIBLE.  My happiness soon ended.  Someone else approached me, a two year old perhaps.  The child squeezed me even harder than the girl and raced me around the paper as fast as a jet.  Tired and worn out, I plopped back down on the paper.  The monster had released me from its strong hold.  Although I was no longer being choked, I still felt a small pain.  I soon realized that the pain was my tongue.  It was missing!  The girl soon returned.  She took a glance at the paper and ran off screaming.  Her drawing of a flower was now a big green blob thanks to the two year old.  I sat next to the paper for several hours, still lacking a tongue.  Eventually another girl picked me up and brought me over to what seemed to be a pencil sharpener.  Oh no, I thought. This is going to be painful.  I prepared myself for extreme agony knowing that a sharp blade was going to shred my face.  She placed me inside of the sharpener.  Humming a tune, the sharpener removed the dead skin from around my mouth.  To my surprise it felt pretty good.  She removed me from the sharpener and I could smell the scent of fresh wood.  Also, my tongue was back.  She placed me back into the box so that I could be used time and time again.  Although, before anyone else could use me to draw anymore beautiful pictures, I woke up.

Pretending I am Jane Long

January 5, 1882

It has been Over six months since my husband, James Long left the headquarters here at Point Bolivar.  I just gave birth to a baby girl about a month ago.  She is the only white individual that has ever been born in Texas.  Many people have been calling me the mother of Texas because of this.  Five months ago the other people awaiting the return of my husband left because he did not return in a month's time as he had said he would.  They invited me to come along, but I refused to go.  I still have hope.  My children, along with my maid, Kian and I are barely surviving through this brutal winter.  All of the food that we had stored is now gone.  Kian and I have been carving ducks and fish out of the ice at the bay to eat.  Every day, to scare away the Indians, I fire the cannon.  I want them to think that this is a well mannered fort, so I hang my red coat from the flagpole.  I will not leave the fort until James returns.  This is where he left me and this is where I will be whenever he returns.

A song for Paw Paw

Paw Paw was having his fiftieth birthday party on a weekend in January about twenty years ago.  An announcement was made that my mother would be playing "Happy Birthday" on the saxophone. Everyone attending the party turned and stared at the fourteen year old.  She had been practicing for weeks to play on Paw Paw's birthday.  Despite this, butterflies filled her stomach and her hands started trembling.  Taking a seat between the kitchen and living room, she nervously began to play. Long, exaggerated notes emerged from the instrument carrying the Happy Birthday tune.  Then, all of a sudden there was a loud squeak that made everyone shriek.  She continued playing.  After what seemed like forever to her, the song ended.  Everyone clapped and cheered as though it was the best song they had ever heard.  The slightly embarrassed girl felt a load of relief come over herself.

Evidence

Although he claims he didn't do it, there is evidence that Jack got into the Nutella today:

1. There were small, brown footprints on the floor in the kitchen
2. Chocolate was smeared all over Rudi's back
3. Jack was COVERED in Nutella
4. The Nutella jar was open and in Jack's reach
5. There was Nutella on the wall at about the same height as Jack's waist
6. Jack's lips and teeth were brown
7. There was a spoon covered in Nutella in the silverware drawer
8. Jack has done this before

I'd say he did it(:
